Europeana Fashion is a best practice network co-funded under the CIP ICT-PSP program and composed of 22 partners from 12 European countries, which represent the leading European institutions and collections in the fashion domain. The consortium will aggregate and provide Europeana with outstanding and rich material about the history of European fashion, including more than 700.000 fashion-related digital objects, ranging from historical dresses to accessories, photographs, posters, drawings, sketches, videos, and fashion catalogues.

The Europeanafashion.eu website is run by the Europeana Fashion consortium and it gives access to a wide range of digitised fashion heritage from across Europe and beyond. This material is provided to Europeana Fashion by a large number of contributing institutions and organisations. Europeana Fashion strives to make all resources on this website available for re-use. As part of this, all metadata (textual information on digitised fashion heritage) on the site are published under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license. Most of the other material, such as images of digitised fashion heritage, is clearly labelled with rights statements that indicate if and under which conditions it can be re-used.

Users of the Europeanafashion.eu website are specifically prohibited from: (a) using any data mining, robots or similar data gathering or extraction methods; (b) manipulating or otherwise displaying the Site or the Europeana Fashion content by using framing or similar navigational technology; (c) reverse engineering, altering or modifying any part of the Site; (d) circumventing, disabling or otherwise interfering with security-related features of the Site or any system resources, services or networks connected to or accessible through the Site; (e) selling, licensing, leasing or in any way commercialising the Site or the Europeana Fashion content without specific written authorisation from Europeana Fashion; and (f) using the Site or the Europeana Fashion content other than for its intended purpose.

The images that are shown on europeanafashion.eu can only be used in accordance with the rights information displayed alongside them (the badges underneath the “Rights Info” label).

This information has been provided to Europeana Fashion by a large number of contributing institutions and organisations.
